Bartholin's gland abscess/labial abscess

Surgical intervention is the mainstay of treatment. 

Antibiotic treatment is usually only needed where there is surrounding skin and soft tissue infection or sepsis.

Antibiotic recommendation

Recommended total duration: 5 days

Recommended Antibiotic Co-amoxiclav 625mg every 8 hours orally
Penicillin allergy

Clindamycin 450mg every 6 hours orally.

Clindamycin and co-amoxiclav are associated with C.difficile diarrhoea.
