Study population:

Patients who had a history of stroke or TIA in the last 5 years.

Comments:

Mean age of patients was approximately 64 years.
70% of patients in the trial had ischaemic stroke.
There were similar reductions in the risk of stroke in hypertensive v. non-hypertensive patients.
